Konica FS-1

1978

Konica FS-1 Camera top view.

The Konica FS-1 was introduced in 1979. Another innovation from Konica, it was the first 35mm SLR to have a built-in motor winder. It bears little resemblance to the Autoreflex series as it was designed from the ground up to be a fully electronic camera. Without batteries this camera is dead-in-the-water. Kudos to Konica, however, for designing it to be powered by 4 common AA cells. Loading film is automatic and quite foolproof.
